Fair Use Policy

Last updated: February 2026

1. Introduction

This Fair Use Policy outlines acceptable use of Yield ERP software to ensure a positive experience for all customers. We've designed these guidelines to be straightforward and reasonable — they exist to protect both you and the broader Yield community.

2. License Usage

  • One license = one production domain. Each license you purchase is tied to a single production domain.
  • You may run unlimited staging and development instances. There is no need to purchase additional licenses for non-production environments.
  • License validation occurs during initial setup. Yield works offline after activation — your business won't stop if our servers are temporarily unreachable.
  • No concurrent installation limits. Test and development environments are free and unlimited.

3. API Usage

  • The Yield REST API is designed for integration with your business systems. Use it to connect Yield with your existing tools, build custom workflows, or automate business processes.
  • No rate limiting is enforced by default — it's your server, and you control the resources. The API is designed to handle high-throughput workloads.
  • We recommend implementing your own rate limiting for any public-facing integrations to protect your server resources.

4. Support Usage

  • Support is available for the licensed customer and their team. Your developers, administrators, and staff are all welcome to contact support.
  • We ask for reasonable use of email support. Support is intended for technical issues, configuration questions, and bug reports — not as a substitute for reading the documentation.
  • Custom development requests are handled separately at $200/hr. If you need bespoke features, integrations, or modifications, our team is available for hire.

5. Acceptable Use

We trust our customers to use Yield responsibly. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Use Yield for legitimate business purposes.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent license validation.
  • Do not use Yield to build a competing ERP product.
  • Do not use purchased source code to create derivative competing products.

6. Updates

  • Yield updates are available through the CLI management tool. Updates include new features, bug fixes, and security patches.
  • Support & maintenance subscribers receive all updates automatically as part of their subscription.
  • Non-subscribers may purchase updates individually when needed.
